IBM 1055 Paper Tape Punch

For customers with prior investments in paper tape, or whose budgets couldn't accomodate punch cards, IBM provided the 1055 Paper Tape Punch (pictured), the 1054 Paper Tape Reader, and the 1134 Paper Tape Reader. The 1050 series products all ran at the Selectric speed of 14.9 characters per second, painfully slow, and the 1134 improved on that speed only slightly at 60cps. FACIT sold an alternative optical paper tape reader that ran at 800cps, and at least in England an RPQ was available for it.
